SPRINGFIELD, Pa. — Crozer-Keystone Health System welcomes pediatric and adolescent gynecologist Rachael L. Polis, D.O., M.P.H. to its women’s health team.

Polis earned her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a fellowship in pediatric and adolescent gynecology from Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Ky. She also holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Louisville School of Public Health and Information Sciences.

Polis, who grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs, joins Crozer-Keystone’s Tots to Teens Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology program. She believes in collaborating with the patient and her medical team to address gynecologic issues, provide education and develop a treatment plan that offers the best possible outcomes.

While it’s commonly believed that only adult women experience gynecologic issues, this is not the case. On the contrary, the field of pediatric and adolescent gynecology continues to grow. For nearly 10 years, the specialists of Crozer-Keystone’s Tots to Teens program have offered individualized, compassionate care to diagnose, manage and treat common gynecologic issues in females under the age of 25. The medical team, comprised of physician specialists and a nurse practitioner, treats concerns ranging from breast and menstrual problems to vulvar and vaginal issues, early/late puberty, and gynecologic issues that may arise from infancy.

Polis, who joined the program in early August, is also a certified yoga instructor. While a resident, she conducted primary research about yoga in pregnancy which earned national media attention – including NPR, U.S. News and World Report, and WebMD – as well as a mention in local media outlets.

Polis is excited to return to her hometown to help young and adult females manage and overcome their gynecologic issues. She sees patients from newborn to 25 years old in the Crozer-Keystone OB/GYN offices located in Broomall, Media, Springfield and Upland. She also sees adult patients in the same locations as a member of the women’s health team. Call 610-619-8300 for an appointment.
