Our government has proved that it is working with a plan in every productive sector of the Greek economy” government spokesperson Yiannis Economou said opening his briefing to the press on Thursday.
“This professional work is particularly depicted this year in the sector of tourism. The revenues from tourism offer to the statethe possibility to further support the society that is hit by the energy and the other crises and in parallel to have valuable reserves for the winter” Economou underlined.
He said that the tourism traffic is posting a strong upward trend as the tourist flows exceed even the most optimistic initial forecasts. “Tourist arrivals at Greek airports in June reached 3,481,000 recording a strong rise in comparison with last year (1,980,000), while they are marginally higher compared with June 2019 (3,478,000) arrivals.
Additionally, Economou said that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will annouce very clearly and specifically the new package of support measures for the Greek society at Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) in September.
“We have proved that we stand by the citizens with targeted and specific measures always keeping reserves without setting at risk the country’s fiscal stability”.
