On October 21, 2019, father-son business duo, Bill and Hristos Kolovos along with partners Bill Dovas, Mike Mihos, Spyros Kapnisis and Kostas Plexidas, invited family and friends to their grand opening of the newly renovated Olga’s Diner in Marlton, NJ.  The partners have brought back to life the iconic Olga’s Diner, which was once a landmark eatery in New Jersey.  The previous Olga’s Diner was founded in 1946 and originally located in Camden, NJ. In the 1960s, it moved to Evesham, NJ, where it remained open until 2008.  Kolovos and the team thought it was time to bring back the old hot spot and pay homage to it by maintaining its original style but adding a modern twist to it.  They purchased the property in 2015 and officially opened its doors for business on October 21st

“It has been a long time in the making, bringing back the old Olga’s Diner in a new location.  Tonight, was a very a special evening, we were very blessed to have with us Father Christoforos, blessing the new place and of course, we feel very blessed with having such wonderful family and friends to come to give us their thoughts on our new place and taste test all the food,” Hristos Kolovos expressed.

The new menu of Olga’s Diner will feature vegan dishes and farm-fresh meal options.  They will also be incorporating Greek specialty dishes on the special’s menu, which will pay tribute to their Greek heritage and the healthy Mediterranean diet they grew up on as kids.  Best part? They have an on-site bakery that will bake delicious pastries and bread daily.

The Kolovos family is no stranger to the hospitality industry.  They own and operate several diners and banquet halls in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  In Philadelphia, there’s Oregon Diner, Penrose Diner, and City Diner and in New Jersey, there is Colonial Diner in Woodbury and their banquet and catering facilities, the Mansion in Voorhees.  Last but not least, there’s Lucien’s Manor in Berlin, NJ, where Hristos Kolovos spends most of his time.  He has been involved in the hospitality industry next to his father, Bill and brother Dimitrios, right after he graduated from American University in Washington, DC.  His brother Dimitrios, a lawyer by trade, is also involved in the family’s hospitality businesses.

“I want to thank all of our friends and family who joined us this evening and of course a special shout out to the Hellenic News of America who is always present in all Greek-American endeavors that take place in the local area, we love you guys and thanks for joining us and we loved having you,” Hristos Kolovos remarked.

What’s Hristo’s favorite menu items? Crispy Brussel sprouts, bronzini, rotisserie chicken and the char-grilled pork chop.  Looks like you will have to make it our to the new Olga’s Diner and give your taste buds flavorful bites!

The new Olga’s Diner is located on 200 NJ-73, in Marlton, NJ and is open Sunday through Thursday from 7 am to 10 pm and Friday & Saturday, 7 am to 11 pm.
