The average diet is based on 2,000 calories a day for women and 2,500 for men. Cutting calories down to between 1500 and 1200 calories (women) or 1800-1500 (men) a day can help you to lose weight in a healthy way. On a calorie restricted diet, the typical body can only burn off about 2lbs of fat a week. Anything more than that is going to be water weight. Cutting your diet down in calories and adding exercise can help the average person lose up to 8lbs a month. Use this information to formulate a diet that will get the last few pounds off for the summer!
