Agricultural Development & Food Minister Lefteris Avgenakis is carrying out a two-day visit to the island of Rhodes as of Thursday.
The minister was scheduled to arrive at the villages of Laerma and Apollona, which were at the core of the recent wildfires that ravaged the island. There Avgenakis was expected to meet with farmers, livestock breedeers and beekepers and be briefed on the extent of damages.
At 11:00 am on Friday he will meet with South Aegean Region Governor Giorgos Chatzimarkou, and at 12:00 noon with Rhodes Mayor Antonis Kambourakis.
