Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis, during a press briefing on Thursday, announced that the parliamentary majority proposed Nikitas Kaklamanis as the President of the Parliament.
He also referred to the letter of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on energy-related issues.
Referring to energy prices in Europe, the prime minister stressed that they are still high and “that this increase reminds us that our energy situation remains precarious, despite the progress we have made in terms of developing renewable energy sources and diversifying our natural gas supply.”
In fact, Mitsotakis proposed a different approach in three areas: electricity, natural gas and emissions, Marinakis noted.
He also said that applications opened on Wednesday for the ‘My Home II’ programme, with a budget of 2 billion euros, which is financed 50% through the Recovery and Resilience Fund and 50% by banking institutions. It is estimated that, based on the programme, 20,000 Greek citizens will be able to acquire their own home.
