For nearly 60 years, Paulette Poulos has been a pillar of the Greek Orthodox Church in America. As she prepares to step down as Executive Director of Leadership 100, she reflects on her legacy of service, the organization’s impact, and the future of Greek Orthodoxy in the U.S.
“This is not goodbye,” Poulos emphasized. “I am not leaving the Church. I am simply stepping aside to allow the next generation to take Leadership 100 forward.”
Her personal decision to step down followed strategic discussions with His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros, Jim Logothetis, and the Leadership 100 Board, ensuring a seamless transition while maintaining the organization’s momentum and mission.

Under Poulos’ visionary leadership, Leadership 100 has played a critical role in funding Orthodox ministries and advancing Hellenic heritage in America. Notable contributions include:
-Expanding Student Aid – Increasing scholarships for seminarians from $1 million to $1.5 million annually to support future clergy and religious educators.
-Supporting Clergy & Church Ministries – Providing financial assistance for clergy in need and ensuring national Greek Orthodox ministries receive adequate resources.
-Funding Major Orthodox Projects – Contributing to the completion of St. Nicholas National Shrine and the St. Michael’s Home for the Elderly, fulfilling Archbishop Elpidophoros’ vision.
-Empowering Greek Orthodox Youth – Investing in youth programs, theological education, and faith-based initiatives to engage the next generation of Orthodox Christians.
The Future of Leadership 100: What’s Next?
As Poulos prepares for this transition, she will continue to mentor and support the next Executive Director, ensuring a smooth leadership transition. Leadership 100 is set to begin a formal search for a successor, prioritizing a candidate who will build upon its mission and expand its impact.
