25-year-old Greek-American licensed guidance counselor Anthony Michaelides has been critically injured in a motorcycle accident in Los Angeles, California.
The accident took place on June 15, which coincided with Father’s Day. He was driving on the freeway when he had lost control of the motorcycle, hit the guard rail and subsequently fell over from the rail from a height of 100 feet.
When the first responders picked him up, he barely had a heartbeat, and they brought him to the hospital in critical condition. According to his friends and family members, he is undergoing many operations and he does not have any health insurance to cover his bills.
Having had the privilege of knowing Michaelides, especially with his association with the Greek Club at the university level, he is a very bright, genuine and an inspiring individual with a big heart. He had obtained his Master’s Degree in guidance counseling and he founded the “Dream Tree” in Los Angeles. It is an organization that aims to encourage young people, and it enhances their creativity to help them chase their dreams.
A fundraiser is set up on Michaelides’ behalf, to help him recuperate from this tragedy, and support his family financially as the hospital bills pile up.
