Five-time Emmy award-winning actor Jonathan Jackson has offered his Emmy award to the Greek Orthodox monastery of Vatopedi, which is located on Mount Athos in northeastern Greece.
In 2012, the actor, who is known for his long-time portrayal of Lucky Spencer on the hit ABC drama General Hospital, was baptized into the Greek Orthodox faith. Jackson has won a total of five Emmy awards in his respected career, three of which are for “Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series,” and two for “Outstanding Supporting Actor.”
When he won his Daytime Emmy award for “Outstanding Supporting Actor” in 2012, he mentioned Mount Athos in his acceptance speech. Jackson thanked the Holy Trinity (The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) for “grace” and for “mercy,” as well as his godfather, and the “monks on Mount Athos who are ceaselessly praying for the life of the world.”
Jonathan Jackson, who is also a musician, will be touring with his band Enation. On November 21, they will be performing at The Town Hall in New York City.
