Greek industrial production fell 4.5% in April, with manufacturing production easing 0.5% in the month, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.

More specifically, the industrial production index fell 4.5% in April compared with the same month last year, after a 22.7% increase recorded in the same months in 2021/2020. This development was attributed to declines of: 21.7% in mining production, 19.7% in electricity production, 0.9% in water production and 0.5% in manufacturing production.

In the first four months of the year, industrial production rose 1.9% compared with the corresponding period in 2021. The seasonally-adjusted index fell 7.5% in April from March 2022.
