The Tourism Ministry and other tourism agencies see strong growth of the Greek cruise in 2022, according to all the available data. It is indicative that according to Tourism Ministry’s data the expected increase in the cruise sector will reach 118 percent for Piraeus port and 189 percent for the port of Thessaloniki while these ports will also be home ports for over 50 percent of the cruise ships that will approach them.
In a statement to the Sunday newspaper Real News, Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias stated “We supported the cruise sector from the first moment and we support our ports as home port destinations. The cruise ship passengers give added value to the local economy and society”.
