Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis received visiting Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister Yair Lapid at Maximos Mansion.
Lapid was in Athens to attend the Greece-Cyprus-Israel trilateral meeting of foreign ministers. The Greek premier discussed developments in Ukraine and the Russian invasion’s geopolitical impact on Greece, Israel and the southeastern Mediterranean region.
They also exchanged views on the progress of trilateral cooperation schemes, energy security issues, and ways to strengthen Greece’s political and economic relations with Israel. The two sides agreed on the need for diversification of energy sources, and on cooperation to exploit energy resources in the eastern Mediterranean.
Also present were Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Dendias, ministry officials, and Greece’s Ambassador to Israel Kyriakos Loukakis.
