2014 Paschal Message of the National Commander
As we Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter with family and friends, sharing the Paschal light and receiving the life changing Gospel Message (John 1:1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…. let us not forget to pray for the Mother Church of Constantinople, the spiritual source of these sacred traditions, and His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, our worldwide spiritual father.
Here in the United States our lives are replete with the abundant blessings of life, liberty and happiness that many of us take for granted, but for most of the oikoumene, the word’s inhabitants, is not experienced. It is our Paschal Prayer that the salvific message of our Lord’s Resurrection brings eternal peace, comfort and every perfect gift from above to all those who are in need, both here in America and throughout the world.
The Order of Saint Andrew, the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in America and Defenders of the Faith, with the blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios and the Holy Synod, will continue to raise the resurrection banner of religious freedom for the Apostolic See of Saint Andrew so that the unwaning light of the Phanar may forever enlighten God’s oikoumene and the bells of Saint George Patriarchal Cathedral may ring joyously with the good news that the Great Church of Christ is free… finally free at last to proclaim to all…

The Order of St. Andrew the Apostle is comprised of Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate who have been honored for their outstanding service to The Orthodox Church by having a Patriarchal title, or “offikion,” bestowed upon them by His All Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. Those upon whom this title of the Mother Church has been conferred are known as “Archons of the Great Church of Christ,” and the titles are personally conferred by the Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in America, His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios.
The Order of St. Andrew’s fundamental goal and mission is to promote the religious freedom, wellbeing and advancement of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, which is headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey.
