Dear Marple Newtown community,

I am inviting you to come out and vote in the May 19, 2015 Primary Election!  I am running for a position as a member of the Marple-Newtown School District Board of School Directors.  I am very passionate about education and, as a graduate of Marple-Newtown Senior High School and Paxon Hollow Middle School, it is a goal of mine to help shape and advance the future of young students in our district.

There are 5 positions for the Marple-Newtown School Board of Directors.  My running mates listed on the ballot with me in the May Primary Elections include Nick Reynolds, Matt Bilker, Matt Catania, and Leonard Altieri.  We have all been endorsed by both the Marple Republican Party and the Newtown Republican Party. However, as School Board Candidates we will all be cross-filing. This means that both Republicans and Democrats can vote for me, as well as all of my highly qualified running mates, in the May 19 Primary Election!

Education is an aspect of society very close to my heart and I believe that my education and experience will serve as an asset to the school board.  I recently graduated from Temple University Beasley School of Law and currently serve as an Assistant District Attorney in the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office.  I attended Villanova University as an undergraduate where I also had an opportunity to study at the University of Oxford as a visiting scholar.  After college I worked for the Hellenic News of America, where I covered various social, political and commercial events in the community and Greece.  I also helped organize the Hermes Expo International, a Greek American trade show.  Due to my interest in education and advancement of young professionals, I used my connection with the newspaper and the Hermes Expo to begin a trend in the community hosting an annual Mentorship Fair for young students.

I feel that the foundations I learned at Marple-Newtown Senior High School have helped guide me through my education and professional development, and it is a goal of mine to ensure the development of the next generation of our community. I urge you to share your voice!  Come out and participate in the May Primary Election and vote for me and my running mates who are dedicated to our district.

Thanks for reading Hellenic News of America

Sincerely,

Stavroula Kotrotsios, Esq.
