The Minister of Rural Development and Food, Spilios Livanos, visited the Italian capital, where he met with his Italian counterpart, Stefano Patouanelli, and with the Director-General of the International Food and Agriculture Organization, Ku Dong.
As he stated to AMNA, after the completion of his meetings, “we discussed in detail the issues of major importance for Greece and Greek farmers concerning the European Union’s response to illegal Turkish fishing, the Nutriscore food label and the central role that our country can play, due to its long experience in strengthening sustainable agriculture”.
The Greek Minister also referred to the effects of the climate crisis and the promotion of Greek agricultural products: “The problems facing the primary sector internationally due to the climate crisis can be turned into an opportunity. As a country and as the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, we use every opportunity for Greek farmers”.
