A US woman, who was seriously injured after falling into a gorge while trekking in Preveli, Rethymno has been admitted to a hospital in Chania.
The rescued woman had sustained injuries to her head and chest. She was initially taken to Rethymno hospital but, due to the seriousness of her injuries, was then transferred to Chania hospital.
“The woman was pregnant and lost the baby, while her condition is extremely critical,” said the director of the hospital Giorgos Beas told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency.
The authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the woman’s fall
