The state, political, and military leadership of Greece attended the doxology on the New Year at the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Athens on Wednesday.
The liturgy was led by Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece.
It was attended, among others, by President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis, SYRIZA leader Sokratis Famellos, Attica Region Governor Nikos Hardalias, and Athens Mayor Haris Doukas.
Greek Parliament was represented by First Vice-President Yiannis Plakiotakis, as President Constantine Tassoulas has been diagnosed with coronavirus.
Following the liturgy, PM Mitsotakis went to the Presidential Mansion to exchange traditional greetings with President Sakellaropoulou.
