On February 3, 2025, the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Sons of Pericles (“SOP”), the organization announced an international campaign, “SOP 100,” to celebrate the upcoming centennial in February 2026. SOP 100 will focus on collecting and recording the organization’s history, growing and re-invigorating the SOP membership, and fundraising for several educational and philanthropic initiatives, setting a goal of raising $100,000 for the 100th anniversary.
Celebrations will include events throughout the year and limited edition commemorative merchandise, culminating in a “Preserving the Past” weekend directly before the centennial anniversary on January 30 – February 1, 2026, in Manchester, New Hampshire, the birthplace of the Order of the Sons of Pericles. The SOP invites its distinguished members and alumni, AHEPA Family members, and supporters from across the international Hellenic community to attend for an eventful weekend of reunions, tributes to the organization’s history, and unveiling of SOP historical exhibits to commemorate the centennial.

The Order of the Sons of Pericles was founded in Manchester, New Hampshire, almost a century ago, and has since made a profound impact in local communities and around the world. Record History
SOP 100 has begun collecting a vast amount of historical archives, including newspaper clippings and original artifacts from the life of the 1920s Hellenic community, and will seek to digitize these archives.
Series of Celebratory Events
Throughout the year, SOP 100 will be planning celebratory events across the organization’s reach, to celebrate our rich history and strategize for the future of the organization. Focusing on cities with historical significance to the SOP, events may be planned in Manchester, NH, Detroit, MI, Akron, OH, and other cities where the SOP has had substantial presence.
Grow Membership
To increase its presence and ability to aid the community, SOP 100 is focused on growing SOP membership, planning special initiations for new members, expanding to new locations, and re-activating its existing membership. Through SOP 100, the SOP is recommitting to its motto of “Heritage, Service, Brotherhood” and will spend the year promoting all the benefits that come with being an SOP member and/or supporter.
Collaborate with the Broader Hellenic Community
The SOP hopes to use its centennial as a rallying call to unite and collaborate with other Hellenic American organizations, therefore strengthening overall community impact. By working together to support one another, the Sons of Pericles have aspirations to be on the forefront of coordinating a cohesive Hellenic voice for the “next generation” of the Hellenic diaspora.
