Meet Chef Georgios Gkouveris
At the heart of Sparta Eats is Chef Georgios Gkouveris, a culinary visionary born and raised in Sparta, Greece. His passion for food began early while working in his family’s restaurant. After moving to the United States, he pursued his culinary dreams, earning a certificate in Culinary Arts.
In 2004, Chef Georgios opened the beloved Sparta Taverna in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, where he continues to serve as Executive Chef and Owner. His dedication to traditional and modern Greek cuisine is the driving force behind Sparta Eats’ success.
In 2022, Chef Georgios published his first cookbook, Simply Greek: From My Restaurant To Your Home, sharing both traditional and modern Greek recipes inspired by the Sparta Taverna restaurants.
