Cretans from across America will gather in West Palm Beach, Florida, from June 18 to 22, 2025, for the 49th Convention of the Pancretan Association of America. The Convention is being organized by the “Cretan Voice” Chapter of West Palm Beach, Florida.
The President of the Pancretan Association of America, Ms. Diane (Diamanta) Kounalakis, stated: “The great statesman Eleftherios Venizelos, Honorary President of the Pancretan Association of America, left us a powerful legacy: that the strength of a people lies in the unity of its spirit. In that same spirit, the Cretan Diaspora will reunite in West Palm Beach, Florida, for this year’s Pancretan Convention. Together, we will advance the proud mission of the Pancretan Association of America and celebrate our heritage with the enduring pride, passion, and spirit that define the Cretan soul.”
The President of the World Council of Cretans and President of the American Chapter of the “Eleftherios K. Venizelos” Foundation, Mr. Nickos Kastrinakis, himself a proud member of the Pancretan Association of America, stated: “The heart of Crete will be beating in beautiful West Palm Beach, Florida this June. I can assure you—it will be beating fast, strong, and proud, as it should. I am also very pleased that we will have the opportunity to present ‘For Crete and for Freedom: The Road to Union.’, the Foundation’s new documentary.”
In addition to the Convention’s official Assembly proceedings, a series of events will take place for all participants:
- Wednesday: Attendees will gather for the official Welcome Night
- Thursday: The Convention will be officially opened, and the sessions will The evening will conclude with Cultural Night, during which all Pancretan members who have served in the Armed Forces will be recognized.
- Friday: The General Assembly proceedings will continue, ending in the evening with Cretan Night, the Convention’s traditional Cretan celebration.
- Saturday: Sessions and elections will continue for both the PAA and Pancretan Youth. The evening will feature the Association’s official Gala.
- Sunday: Following Divine Liturgy, participants will gather for a festive beach party and picnic, where they will say their farewells and set a date for the next
