The Lykaion Games, rooted in ancient tradition and celebrated as one of Greece’s most unique cultural and athletic events, had been postponed earlier this summer due to extreme fire risk weather conditions. The rescheduled program will now bring athletes, visitors, and culture enthusiasts together to experience a revival that honors both history and community spirit.
The day’s events will begin with the Lighting of the Flame at the Summit of Mount Lykaion at 7:00 a.m., followed by its ceremonial transfer to the Ancient Stadium, where the athletic competitions will officially commence at 8:00 a.m.
The organizers expressed their appreciation to those who traveled to the site during the previously scheduled date and were unable to participate. Despite the postponement, enthusiasm remains high, with participants and supporters encouraging the continuation of the Games within 2025.
