NEW YORK, NY — September 22, 2025 — In a night filled with reverence, gratitude, and inspiration, George and Nitzia Logothetis of Libra Group hosted a private dinner at the Mandarin Oriental in honor of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Archbishop of Constantinople–New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch, the spiritual leader of more than 300 million Orthodox Christians worldwide.
The intimate evening followed His All-Holiness’s appearance at the Concordia Summit, where he addressed global leaders on faith, morality, and the transformative power of dialogue in shaping society.

A Spiritual Leader of Global Influence
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is recognized internationally as a leading voice for peace, religious freedom, and environmental stewardship. Known as the “Green Patriarch,” he has championed ecological awareness as a moral imperative, while his decades-long commitment to interfaith dialogue and human rights has earned him the Congressional Gold Medal and global acclaim.
A Tribute to a Spiritual Beacon
Opening the evening, George Logothetis, Executive Chairman of Libra Group, delivered a moving, philosophical tribute. He described His All-Holiness as a man with “the deepest well of goodness and kindness of anyone I have ever met.”
Reflecting on the Greek immigrant journey, the importance of gratitude, and the power of hardship to reveal wisdom, Logothetis emphasized that a meaningful life is measured not by what we take, but by what we give. He shared a touching memory from a children’s cancer facility in Panama, where the joy and resilience of young patients illustrated the enduring strength of faith, community, and unconditional love.
“The happiest people are those who give more than they take,” Logothetis reminded guests, urging them to choose kindness over bitterness and see life’s challenges as opportunities for growth.
The Patriarch’s Blessing and Vision
In his remarks, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew expressed profound gratitude to the Logothetis family and Libra Group for their hospitality and philanthropic vision. He recalled his participation at the 2017 Concordia Conference in Athens, reflecting on the importance of shared values, harmony, and divine concord in building a compassionate world.
The Patriarch praised the creation of Libra Philanthropies in 2023, highlighting its initiatives in maternal and family mental health, arts, and cultural renewal. He reflected on the name Libra, rooted in ancient Roman and Byzantine symbolism of balance, harmony, and justice, a legacy the Logothetis family continues to honor through enterprise and philanthropy.
“When our hearts are joined together in divine concord, we fulfill our destiny as human beings, as loving manifestations of the kind of love that can transform the world,” His All-Holiness said before offering his blessing on the Logothetis family and their mission.
A Night of Faith, Gratitude, and Purpose
The evening was more than fellowship, it was a call to action. His All-Holiness’ blessing and George Logothetis’ stirring words underscored that faith and gratitude are not passive virtues, but guiding forces for the future.
Together, they invited all present to give more than they take, to strengthen community bonds, and to keep the flame of Hellenism alive for generations to come. Under the spiritual leadership of the Ecumenical Patriarch and the vision of the Logothetis family, the evening became a powerful reminder that love, resilience, and purpose remain the cornerstones of true progress.
