The Ionian Cultural Federation of America concludes 2025 with significant achievements,
strengthened partnerships, and a renewed commitment to promoting Hellenic and
Eptanisian culture across the globe.
A highlight of the year was the dynamic participation of the Cultural–Educational Association
of Sinies from North Corfu in the New York Parade, where thirty traditional dancers
showcased the richness of Corfiot heritage and captivated the Greek American community.
Equally historic was the world premiere of Yannis Smaragdis’ film “The Governor”, organized
with the active involvement of the Ionian Cultural Federation of America and collaborating
cultural organizations. This milestone underscored the impact of united cultural efforts.
The visit of Dimitris Mouzakitis, journalist, publisher, and founder of the Corfiot Awards,
opened a new chapter of cooperation and shared vision. In its final meeting of the year, the
Ionian Cultural Federation unanimously named him Honorary President and appointed him
Ambassador of the Ionian Cultural Federation to Europe. The official presentation of the
honorary plaque and proclamation will take place in Greece in January.
As the Ionian Cultural Federation closes a year of progress and cultural outreach, it looks
ahead to 2026 with renewed energy, unity, and dedication to its mission of preserving and
promoting Greek and especially Ionian culture worldwide.
