A historical Art Project is currently in process. No such project has ever been attempted in Cyprus before by an individual artist, making this concept, a truly unique undertaking. It is a large-scale oil painting by Andreas C Chrysafis and is expected to take over one year to complete. The massive artwork measures 120 cm high and, when finally finished, will exceed 20 meters in length. Such an artistic undertaking demands those dimensions!
The artist’s vision for this challenging cultural project has been simmering for years, and once completed, it will stand as a tribute to the island. No artwork of such inspiration or scale has ever been attempted before!
The public and art enthusiasts alike will be transported back to Neolithic and Chalcolithic periods of Cyprus—9.000 years ago—and will visually experience the island’s long journey through history and evolution.
The monumental canvas will amaze audiences and remain as a visual record for future generations, illustrating Cyprus’s historical passage of time. Work on the artwork has already commenced.
While the work is in progress, it will remain the artist’s “Secret Painting” until its completion. It will then be officially unveiled next year to the mass media by the Mayor of Paphos and remain on exhibition for public viewing, welcoming schools and tourists alike.
