Chicago Pre-Screening and Cultural Celebration
The Consulate General of Greece in Chicago, in cooperation with the Hellenic Foundation, the Pickwick Theatre, and the Hellenic Film Society USA, will present Kapodistrias (The Governor) on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Pickwick Theatre in Park Ridge, Illinois.
This screening is part of the ongoing CineΕλλάδα program, a monthly initiative in Chicago that highlights Greek cinema and introduces audiences to both historical and contemporary narratives from Greece.

Actor Antonios Myriagkos who plays Ioannis Kapodistrias will serve as Grand Marshal for the Greek Independence Parade on Sunday, April 19, and will attend the film’s opening on April 22 at the Pickwick Theatre at the 1:30, 4:30 and 7:30 PM screenings. (Greeting from Myriagkos attached)

San Francisco Pre-Screening and Cultural Celebration
A special pre-screening of Kapodistrias (The Governor) will take place in San Francisco as part of a broader cultural program. The United Hellenic American Societies of California (UHAS) will bring a 12-member contingent of the Greek Presidential Guard (Evzones) to San Francisco for the first time ever. Their visit is part of a five-day Greek Independence Day celebration from April 15–19, 2026. The grand finale will be a parade and celebration at Union Square on Sunday, April 19.
In partnership with the San Francisco Greek Film Festival, UHAS will host a special screening of Kapodistrias (The Governor) on April 18 as part of its Evzone SF program.
UHAS, a California-based nonprofit organization, represents and serves the Greek American community. Its mission is to promote, preserve, and protect Greek culture, heritage, and traditions through cultural, educational, and civic programs. By uniting Hellenic societies, churches, families, and philhellenes, UHAS plays a central role in organizing major Greek-American cultural events that strengthen community ties and public awareness of Greek contributions to American society.
