Greek National Defense Minister Nikos Dendias visited the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the Boston region on Friday.
Dendias met with Greek professors Director of MIT Sea Grant Michael Triantafyllou, Director of the Center for Ocean Engineering
Themistoklis Sapsis, as well as with Captain and professor of Naval Architecture Andrew J. Gillespy. In a post on X, the Greek minister said he visited “one of the top universities in the areas of technology and innovation in the world” and had “very useful discussions regarding the new era we are planning for the Hellenic Navy.”
Dendias is visiting the United States on the occasion of celebrations for Greek Independence Day, and will meet with the academic community and the Greek diaspora. In the Boston area on Friday he was also scheduled to speak at Harvard Kennedy School and meet with administrators and academics at Tufts University’s Fletcher School of international relations. On Saturday, he traveled to New York.
