An event was organised at the Greek parliament by the Greece-Azerbaijan’s Friendship group and Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Greece Anar Huseynov on Wednesday, to mark the 30-year anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The meeting attended the president of the Greece and Azerbaijan’s Friendship group Alexandros-Christos Avlonitis, the vice president Asimina Skondra, the secretary Mihail Katrinis and the members Georgios Moulkiotis and Georgios Lamboulis.
According to a parliament announcement “the Greek MPs praised the importance of the cooperation between Greece and Azerbaijan, not only in the field of energy but also in the fields of economy, tourism and culture.
On his part, the Azeri envoy underlined that the collaboration between the two countries in the energy sector constitutes a solid basis for the further strengthening of the bilateral relations in other areas, such as the economy, culture and cooperation between educational institutes particularly via student exchanges.
A mutual desire for an exchange of visits at a diplomatic and at cultural actions level was also expressed.
