Turkey could collaborate with the European Union and Greece to protect human lives and uproot human trafficking networks, Greek Migration & Asylum Minister Notis Mitarachi said on Twitter on Sunday.

“8 migrants missing & 104 rescued in Cyclades from a sailing boat that left Turkish shores for Europe. Turkey can do a better job, working with the EU and Greece to protect human lives and eradicate smuggling networks, in line with international law and the EU-Turkey Statement of 2016,” Mitarachi said, following the rescue of over 100 migrants off a sailboat near Delos.
