Turkey’s unlawful actions violating the sovereign rights of Greece and Cyprus will be discussed at the EU Foreign Ministers Council being held on Monday in Luxembourg, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias as he arrived for the meeting.
“I look forward to the briefing by Cyprus Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides on the Turkish illegal actions within Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), as well as on Turkey’s illegal actions violating the sovereign rights and sovereignty of the Cyprus Republic. This is, in any case, linked with the violation of Greece’s sovereign rights and of Greece’s sovereignty by Turkey in the last few days,” Dendias said.
The Greek minister also referred to the working breakfast that he hosted for the Foreign Minister of Libya, Najla el-Mangoush, with the participation of other EU member-state foreign ministers. At the meeting, Dendias said, there was a discussion on all the multilateral parameters of the situation in Libya and what aid can be offered by the EU to help normalise the situation and hold the upcoming general elections smoothly, as well as for the fast withdrawal of mercenaries and foreign troops from Libya.
