The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in December 2024 amounted to 9.4% compared to 10.4% in December 2023 and to the downwards revised 9.5% in November 2024, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said.
The number of employed persons amounted to 4,267,593 persons, increased by 35,656 persons as compared with December 2023 (0.8%) and decreased by 10,579 persons compared with November 2024 (-0.2%).
The number of unemployed persons amounted to 443,639, decreased by 48,529 persons as compared with December 2023 (-9.9%) and by 6,124 persons compared with November 2024 (-1.4%).
The number of persons outside the labour force, i.e., persons under the age of 75, that neither work nor look for a job, amounted to 3,053,783, decreased by 10,816 persons as compared with December 2023 (-0.4%) and increased by 14,551 persons compared with November 2024 (0,5%).
