Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos presented the government’s policy for the industry, the research and the innovation addressing the Thessaloniki Summit 2025. He underlined that need for Greece to shield itself and remain secure in the period of turbulences that are in progress in the global economy and the international political checkboard.
“Our response to international turmoil is stability, growth and social cohesion. Our strategy for industry and the productive transformation of our economy is a security factor for Greece,” he said.
He referred to research and innovation, saying that “the government is giving half a billion euros for upgrading the logistical infrastructure of the research centers and over 300 million euros for the Research – Innovate program that brings businesses closer to the research community. We support applied research and innovation that leads to the real economy”.
Theodorikakos announced that the Cabinet decided that the Greek government should claim the money given for investment projects of the past that were never carried out. “We must respect the taxpayers’ money”, he pointed out and also referred to the very important issue of energy costs for businesses, underlining that it has many international aspects and a great effort will be made by everyone in the government to deal with it.
“We are here with a plan, persistence and vision for the good of the Greek economy and Greek society”, concluded Theodorikakos.
