“According to its announcement, the University of York is going to submit an application to open a higher education branch in Thessaloniki and Athens,” government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis said at the press briefing on Monday.
As he emphasized, “the public British University of York is consistently ranked among the top universities in the United Kingdom, Europe and the world, which is confirmed by their most recent Times Higher Education 2025 rankings, which places York in 146th place worldwide.”
He then referred to the new upgrade of the Greek economy by DBRS Morningstar. “This upgrade is another vote of confidence in the economic policy that has been followed in recent years and a reminder that the continuation of prudent economic policy is a result of political stability.”
Marinakis also referred to the implementation of the new Code of Conduct for commercial enterprises regarding discounts. “With the Code of Conduct, commercial enterprises can no longer use practices that may mislead the consumer in relation to the most basic elements of a discount, namely the original price or the discount percentage,” Marinakis noted.
