The Central New Jersey Regional Chamber of Commerce (CNJRCC) brought together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community advocates for its 2nd Annual Gala on March 26, 2026, hosted at Make-A-Wish New Jersey in Monroe Township, an evening where leadership, purpose, and community impact converged in a meaningful way.
The evening reflected the Chamber’s role as a growing force in supporting small businesses, strengthening local economies, and fostering cross-industry collaboration across New Jersey. Set within the inspiring space of Make-A-Wish New Jersey, the event carried an added dimension, aligning business leadership with a mission rooted in hope, resilience, and service.

Paul Kotrotsios: A Greek-American Legacy of Building Community Through Enterprise
Among the evening’s honorees, Paul Kotrotsios stood out as a figure whose work has consistently bridged business, culture, and community for decades.
As the Founder of Hermes Expo International and Founder & Chairman of the Hellenic News of America, Kotrotsios has played a defining role in advancing Greek-American enterprise and visibility in the United States. Since 1992, Hermes Expo has evolved into a dynamic marketplace where businesses connect, collaborate, and grow—bringing together professionals across industries while strengthening ties between the United States and Greece.
His recognition by the CNJRCC reflects a legacy built not only on entrepreneurship, but on a deeper commitment to koinonia (community), philotimo (service), and the advancement of Hellenic identity through meaningful engagement.
Accepting the honor, Kotrotsios shared remarks that reflected both gratitude and forward momentum:
“I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the CNJRCC and the Make-A-Wish Foundation for this meaningful honor. Your recognition is deeply appreciated and inspires me to continue serving our community with dedication, compassion, and purpose.

Greek-American Leadership Represented
The evening also highlighted the strong presence of Greek-American leadership within the Chamber and broader business community.
Among those sworn in to the CNJRCC Board of Directors was Andrea Pagiazitis, who will serve as Vice President and Event Coordinator, and Kathy Makras, who assumes the role of Treasurer, both contributing to the Chamber’s continued growth and strategic direction.
Additionally, Steve Mamakas, Executive Director of Economic Development for Old Bridge, New Jersey, was in attendance, reflecting the role Greek-American professionals continue to play in shaping regional economic development and public-private collaboration.
Their presence underscores the broader impact of Greek-American professionals across sectors, contributing to leadership, innovation, and community advancement throughout the region.
New Leadership Takes the Stage
The gala also marked an important moment for the Chamber, as its newly appointed Board of Directors was formally sworn in.
Under the leadership of President Christiene Gonce, the incoming board includes Andrea Pagiazitis (Vice President & Event Coordinator), Colleen Havecker (Secretary), Danielle Oswald (IT Chair), Kathy Makras (Treasurer), and Joel Pascua (Marketing Director).
This new leadership team reflects a continued commitment to strengthening the Chamber’s mission—expanding engagement, supporting business growth, and creating new pathways for collaboration.
