Greece won four top honors during this year’s American Travvy Awards, which are characterized as the Oscars of the American tourism industry. Specifically, Greece selected;
* as the best (gold) destination in the Mediterranean (Best Destination – Mediterranean),
* as the best (gold) International Cruise Destination (Best Cruise Destination International),
* as the best (Luxury) International destination for luxury tourism (Best Luxury Destination International), and
* as the second best (silver) international adventure tourism destination (Silver Expedition / Adventure Destination International).
Travvy Awards each year award the top international destinations, tour operators and travel / travel companies, as selected by executives from the country’s tourism industry. This year, more than 90,000 professionals in the tourism market took part in the voting, expressing their preferences in 140 sub-categories.
The Greek awards were received by the head of the National Tourism Organization Service USA & Canada, Konstantinos Harokopos.
