Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Monday represented Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the working dinner of the Ukraine Recovery Conference.
On the sidelines of the Conference, Dendias met with the President and Foreign Minister of Switzerland Ignazio Cassis who expressed his satisfaction with Greece’s participation in the rebuilding of Ukraine, as well as for its support of the relevant Swiss initiative. Greece has already offered approximately 2 billion euros in humanitarian aid and continues to contribute through EU programmes.
Dendias also met his Croatian counterpart Gordan Grlić-Radman with whom he discussed, apart from the situation in Ukraine, the developments in the Western Balkans. The two officials again agreed in terms of the region’s European perspective.
The Greek Foreign Minister offered his condolences to his Danish counterpart Jeppe Kofod for the recent crime at the mall in Copenhagen. They also briefly examined the issue of the imminent accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO, as well as the security challenges that these countries face.
Additionally, Dendias invited Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Liesje Schreinemacher to visit Athens in order to discuss matters of bilateral trade as well as the exchange of knowhow in issues of development policy.
Finally, Dendias had his first meeting with the Foreign Minister of Lichtenstein Dominique Hassler. The talks focused on the strengthening of bilateral relations as well as on the Greek candidacy on the UN Security Council.
