SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance criticized Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for his visit to Washington in combination with the recent “provocative violations by Turkish fighters in Alexandroupolis” in a statement on Saturday.
Specifically, it stated: “Turkey committed an unprecedented violation of the Greek airspace, reaching 2.5 nm. from Alexandroupolis, despite the celebrations of how the indefinite concession of a camp and a port shields Thrace. And the United States, once again, not only does not condemn the action, but without even mentioning the word Turkey, calls on us to “coordinate and talk … about the difference in airspace.” In addition, the Turkish Foreign Minister, after his visit to the US, stated that he is optimistic about the F16 market adding that the relevant talks are proceeding “very positively.”
